SeabuckthornMega-hardy nitrogren fixing superfood plant! Resists animal damage with its tough bark and spiky branches, this shrub will be loaded with golden to sunset orange fruits that range in flavor from tangerine to grapefruit and are brimming with nutritional goodness. Apricot - 'Briana'Amazing seedling Apricot. We've been growing two since 2009 (wish we had planted more!) and each year they make hundreds and hundreds of small, insanely flavored Apricots. Ungrafted, super hardy, and you can grow your own from seed saved from your trees. No deer or rabbit damage in all the years of growing them...

Hazelnut - Improved large nutSelection grown out at Edible Acres to bearing age and nuts selected from largest bearing and earliest bearing shrub. Great flavor, up to 2-3 times larger than the wild nuts we have and have seen.

White Oak - ImprovedGrown out from selected seed found in Ithaca by good friend and plant breeder Akiva Silver. This White Oak has huge acorns and the seedlings have been growing amazingly for us!

Shagbark Hickory - ImprovedLarger nut than the wild types in the area. These nuts crack across the seam and can very often open into nearly perfect halves, like a tiny pecan but with MUCH more intense flavor!

American PlumWild seedling type, can be used as rootstock to graft cultivars onto, or allowed to grow into a wild bush/tree loaded with fruit that may be delicious or more 'wild' flavor.

AroniaSuckering shrub in the apple family (although you wouldn't guess it!) Well adapted to wet sites. Beautiful plant, gets loaded with jet black berries in the fall that have some of the highest concentrations of medicinal compounds in a fruit. American HazlenutWild type from various cold region sources. Incredibly hardy shrub, excellent for wildlife, as use in a windbreak, and even though nuts may be small, they are many, and are DELICIOUS!

Sweet Fern

Nanking CherryExcellent flavored more wild cherry. Bush form, flowers incredibly early (before forscythia in some years!). Prolific fruiting, comes true enough from seed, bushes loaded with small, delicious berries. Sour cherries have much higher nutrition and medicinal value than sweet cherries.

Western Sand CherryBeautiful, small shrub producing large numbers of nice sized cherries. These plants only get 3-4' tall and make beautiful flowers and fall foliage. The fruit is quite tasty at the right time.

Black LocustAmazing nitrogen fixing, high density rot resisting wood, excellent firewood, edible flower producing tree!

Thornless Honey LocustSourced from a very productive tree in NYS, our Honey Locust trees grow very quickly and produce no thorns but huge pods.

Blue False Indigo BushAmorpha Fruicticosa - Beautiful, multi-stemmed shrub reaching about 8' tall. Creates incredible orange/purple cone flowers that honey bees flip over. Nitrogen fixer, wet foot tolerant, shade tolerant, 100% deer hardy plant. Very useful!

Perennial StockPotted plants $2-$12 depending on size of pot and plant, negotiable and discounts certainly apply for larger purchase. If you can arrange to visit the farm late winter/early spring or late fall/early winter there may be many of these plants available as bare root and at very reasonable prices, please inquire for details... Cranberry - selected wild types and named cultivars (limited)This is the cranberry you know from Thanksgiving fame... People think they can only grow in bogs, not true. Our propagation area is in a normal, well drained garden bed and they grow very happily! Incorporate them as a ground cover in your perennial designs!

Arnica (European)Beautiful running ground cover to about 6" tall. Intense golden flowers, used to make oils to help with brusing and healing. We love it in the sunny spots to run and compete with weeds and grasses. Pretty aggressive, be careful with this one, runs like mint!

ChivesSuper hardy onion flavor early in the season, great carefree perennial and partner to plants

Chives - Curly-q top (chinese?)Chive/Garlic flavor with curly-q tops. Pretty, delicious, hardy.

RampsBeautiful flavor in these early spring greens. Sweet onion with a spinach texture, very delicate. These are wild perennial plants that over harvested every year. Be responsible and grow your own patch to expand and enjoy, so the wild plants can enjoy the forests!

Native/Wild LicoriceGlycyrrhiza Lepidota - Hardy, native licorice family plant. Fixes nitrogen, spreads by runners and creates a great, expanding, fertilizing understory in moist soils. Licorice Milk VetchAstragalus Glycyphyllos - Ground covering perennial vetch with thick, strong stalks and an ability to really cover some ground. This can be a nice N-fixing companion under new perennial woody plantings to cover ground quickly and provide fertility. Welsh OnionWe used to grow a standard Welsh Onion but it had issues with vigor and hardiness... We found seed for a 'Japanese Negi' type from a friend and it has been incredible in how hardy, vigorous and healthy it has been! Anise HyssopMember of the mint family with beautiful form, flowers and scent. All parts can be used in tea for a wonderfully sweet and licorice flavor, and can be used fresh in desserts and other dishes. Plus the bees love it!

Monarda ( Bee Balm) - Didyma and FistulosaWonderful mint family plant. Strongly scented, edible, medicinal, lures in the most beautiful of hummingbirds and moths. As a mint it isn't as aggressive as others, and tends to just fill in in beautiful ways.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monarda

Turkish RocketVery hardy, perennial, deep rooted plant with thick large leaves that can be steamed and eaten and young flower stalks that can be cooked and enjoyed like a brocolli raab. Comfrey - Bocking 14Large leafed comfrey that shoots massive roots deep into the earth to bring up trace minerals and vitamins for the soil. Makes an excellent green manure crop. Does not run away or spread like mad as some people say... Unless you start rototilling or digging around it, then it starts to spread. We have patches that are 4 years old in the exact same spot. Comfrey - Dwarf Running 'Hidcote Blue'A running version of comfrey (yikes!)... Only gets about a foot tall. Makes an insanely strong groundcover for orchards, vineyards, etc., incredible sources of nectar for bees all summer, amazing soil protection from erosion and drying. HorseradishGreat deep rooted hardy perennial. Be careful where you put it since it STAYS no matter how much you think you dug it up! Great as a barrier between perennial gardens and mowed lawns

Sweet CicelyPerennial member of the carrot family with beautiful, large, lacy fernlike leaves, tall stunning flowers and very interesting looking seed pods. All parts edible, with a sweet, almost musky licorice flavor. The roots used to be dug up for a childrens candy, the young seed pods taste almost exactly like the 'good and plenty' style licorice candy. Black Cap Raspberry - wild and 'Jewel' and other named cultivarsGreat fruit for the mid summer. Wild canes highly productive with minimal care and even neglect! Can grow amazingly under Black Walnut influence. 'Jewel' cultivar noted for higher yields, larger fruit, and it ripens a bit later than the wild types, extending your enjoyment. Goji BerryStarted from seed, this fast growing shrub produced fresh fruit for us in it's second year in a greenhouse! Overwinters just fine in this region, in a greenhouse or just out in the garden with no protection. Produces both fruit and edible greens. Worthwhile plant to experiment growing out. There is a lot of genetic diversity in these seedlings, so fruit quality will vary, but all will make incredibly nutritious and worthwhile edible leaves.

Elderberry - Wild and Limited Avail. CultivarsWonderful medicinal shrub that is very happy to live with wet feet. We're trialing a number of cultivars now and will have named offerings for the 2015 season, but have a ton of the wild elderberries that reliably grow in some very challengingly muck and wet conditions. Beautiful flowers, interesting foliage and dark fruit that makes powerful medicine, this plant has a lot going for it.

Jerusalem Artichoke - 'Red Fuseau'Perennial Sunflower family plant with delicious tubers. You can harvest all winter from these, they get better the colder it gets! Jerusalem Artichoke - 'Stampede'Very tall and productive variety, with stalks getting up to 14-18 feet each year! Has showy flowers late in the season.

Jerusalem Artichoke - 'Dwarf Blue Ray'Dwarfing variety to 6', very productive, produces flowers earlier than other sun chokes and makes white, nobby tubers in such abundance they almost heave out of the ground

Giant Perennial SunflowerPerennial sunflower that grows to 8' or even taller given full sun. Beautifully productive with tons of little sunflowers all over, great as nectar source for bees. Powerful roots hold onto soil and strong/stiff stems persist through the winter. Some use walls of this super hard perennial as winter deer barriers. We plan to test that 2016!

Miscanths - Giant Silver GrassNot edible, but powerhouse perennial grass with huge biomass potential... Excellent windbreak, wildlife refuge, biochar fuel potential, carbon source, very exciting plant. Air Potato (climbing vine to 9'-15' tall)Georgeous vining yam family perennial. Believe it or not, this makes nice tasting little potatoes all over the vine in the late fall, tasting like a mix between okra and potato. Grapes (concord and other seedless cultivars )Concrod grapes... incredibly vigorous, great flavor, beautiful plant. Need something to grow on, these could be a great addition to an old fence or wall you'd like to cover up with food! Hardy Kiwi (a few female selections available as well as 'Meader' male)Lovely vine that makes delicious kiwis... Smaller than your standard kiwi, but no fuzz to cut off, and the flavor is out of this world! Hardy to our area, what a treat! Need males and females.
