More Obituaries on Page 11A BURDEN C.T. Burden died Monday, August 9, 2004, in Graham, TX. He was 80. He was born June 8, 1924 in Granite, Oklahoma and moved to Graham in 1987 from Bethany, Oklahoma. Mr.

Burden was a retired civil service worker and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Survivors: wife, Leta Burden of Graham; sons, Tom Burden and wife, Diedra of Breck-enridge, Texas and Jerry Burden and wife, Pat, of Norman, Oklahoma; sister, Norma Taylor of Altus, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Huckabay died Saturday at his residence surrounded by his large family. Burial will be in Fair-lawn Cemetery, Snyder, under the direction of Becker Funeral Home of Snyder. Thomas Clayton Huckabay was born February 28, 1908 in Castor, Louisiana to John Thomas and Elizabeth Murphy Huckabay. He lived there with his family until 1926 when he came to Mountain Park, Oklahoma. After high school he left Castor and graduated from Tyler Texas Commercial College in 1926.

He was employed at Planter's State Bank in Mountain Park where he met Areta Wilburn. They married May 2, 1927 in Frederick, OK. She died May 9, 1997. He worked in Mountain Park in the late 1920's until 1943 when he purchased the First National Bank in Snyder (now the Bank of the Wichitas). In 1948 he purchased Planter's State Bank in Mountain Park and consolidated it with the Snyder Bank.

He purchased the First National Bank of Sentinel (now Southwest State Bank) in 1956. He served on the board of directors of the First Mustang State Bank (now All America Bank), and was director of Wash*ta State Bank of Burns Flat for many years. During his entire life, banking was what he enjoyed. His son and daughter and many of his grandchildren followed his lead into banking. He was a lifelong Rotarian in Snyder and is a Paul Harris Fellow in the Rotary Club.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and had supported many community projects in his home town. He and his wife Areta donated the building to the Snyder Public Library. He received the 50 year Banking Award from the Oklahoma Banker's Association. He was a Master Mason for 78 years, having earned his 50 year pin on May 23, 1986. He is survived by a large and loving family: daughter Virginia Huckabay Meadows and her husband Bill of Edmond, OK; son Gary Huckabay and his wife Betty of Yukon, OK; sister Naomi Huckabay Moore of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren: Brent Ballinger, Stacy Thomas, Sydney Compton, Shawn Cochrane, Todd Huckabay, Wade Huckabay; 13 great grandchildren and three nephews and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Areta Wilburn Huckabay, five siblings, grandson Brady Austin Eoff and great grandson Amory Joe Pearce. She is survived by her son, Chester Archie Cotton, of Sierra Vista, AZ; daughters in Enid, OK March 4, 1988 Zac grew into a young man prepared to experience life with his many loves and talents. Put a skateboard, snowboard, sketch pad and pencil or Bob Marley CD in his hands and he was thrilled with the energy and youth bestowed upon him by God. Zac and his mother and sister moved to Edmond in 1994 where he attended Angie Debo Elementary, Summit Middle School and was a junior at Edmond Sante Fe High School. He was one of the passionate, colorful members of the Sante Fe Art Club, enthusiastic supporter of S.A.D.D. and Multicultural Club sought adventure and responsibility in the Civil Air Patrol.

Zac is survived by his mother, Linda McGee and sister Catherine Caviness of Edmond, three brothers; Richard Henneke and his wife Denise, of Enid, Matthew Henneke of Stillwater and Brian Caviness of Enid, his Grandfather, Burney "Pa" Smither, Aunt, Brenda Smifher and a niece and nephew. He is preceded in death by his Grandmother, Virginia Smither of Enid. Zac intended to take his passion and dreams, following graduation, to California, to attend art school. What a following his work would have generated. His accomplished talent and soothing love were sure to enchant anyone he touched.

The body is available for viewing, Wednesday August 11th at Guardian North Funeral Home. Services are Thursday August 12, 2004 at Quail Springs Baptist Church. BILL MERRITT FUNERAL SERVICE JORDAN Laland Tanner Jordan, 84, former Moreland and Blackfoot resident, machinist, inventor and dog breeder died Monday, August 9, 2004 in Oklahoma City, OK.

He was born February 13, 1920 in Moreland, ID, to Elijha Jordan and Mary Tanner Jordan. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, during his service years he lived in Pocatello, San Diego and many other places. In October 1946 he married Eleanor Bugoski, in Maryland. She preceded him in death in 1989.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lee worked as a machinist in the civil service. His favorite pass time was tinkering. He is survived by one son, David Jordan, of Oklahoma City, OK; one daughter, Susann Mae Jordan. Ph.D., of Arizona; two sisters, Elna Jewitt, of Salt Lake City, UT, Anne Clement, of Cheney WA, one brother Arthur Jordan, of Laurie, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Anna Bugoski-Jordan; an infant daughter, Joann Fae Jordan; three brothers and four sisters. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2004 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling, Blackfoot, ID. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the American Humane Society in Laland' name.

Services will be held at Knob Hill Baptist Church 2700 SW 59th Thursday at 2:00 PM. Interment at Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, OK.
