Skyward Family Access

Family Resources - R.A. Long High School (1)

Skyward Family Access is an online tool that gives families the opportunity to participate more fully in their students’ education. It offers up-to-the-minute student information, including attendance, schedules, food service balances and immunizations. It also includes a calendar and message center.

If you have not yet obtained a username, submit an application to a school where you have a student attending. Your username will work for all active students living in your household. Each guardian may have a separate user name and password.

Please note:

  • Not all Skyward Family Access features are available at all schools.
  • Grades are posted for grades 6-12 and are not final until the end of the reporting period.
  • Computers accessing the Skyward Family Access web site should use Internet Explorer version 5.5 or newer for PC, Internet Explorer 5.1.7 or newer for Macintosh or Safari 1.2 for Macintosh.
  • Cookies must be enabled on your device.
  • Longview Public Schools does not provide technical support for this service other than account management and passwords.

Yearbooks

As part of the Yearbook class, 10th-12th students are responsible for the business, production and project management required to produce the yearbook.

Yearbook Purchase Process

The yearbook pre-order window opens on our Gear up for School Day (late August) and ends in mid-December. During the pre-order timeframe, students have the option of choosing a $5.00 add-on to have their name engraved on the front cover.

  • Yearbook Cost - $60.00
  • Yearbook w/ Name - $65.00

If the pre-order window has closed, students may put their name on a waitlist in the ASB Office. Once we have determined the number of extras available for sale, students will be contacted in the order they were recorded (on the waitlist) to pay the $60.00 fee. Adding names is not an option for waitlist orders.

If a student missed both the pre-order and waitlist options, any extras left will be sold ($60.00) on a first come, first serve basis.

Senior Ads

In Spring an email is sent to all families with Seniors regarding senior ads. This gives families the option of congratulating their graduates with a special message along with baby and recent photos.

  • 1/8 Page (approx. 2.5'x4") - $45.00
  • 1/4 Page (approx. 4"x6") - $75.00
  • 1/2Page (approx. 5.5"x8") - $100.00

Ads are submitted via email and proofs are sent for approval before being officially published.

We are very excited to announce that the RAL HS Athletic Department has partnered with FinalForms, an online forms and data management service. FinalForms allows you to complete and sign athletic participation forms for your students. The most exciting news is that FinalForms saves data from season-to-season and year-to-year, meaning that you will never need to enter the same information twice! FinalForms also pre-populates information wherever possible, for each of your students, saving you time.

You may review your data at any time to verify it is current. You will be required to sign your forms once per year and after any update.

Click on the Parent Playbook (English) (Spanish) to get started in FinalForms. If you require any support during the process, scroll to the page bottom and click “Get Help”.

We are asking the parents/guardians of all students planning to play sports to create accounts in FinalForms and register your student(s).

Please register at: https://longview-wa.finalforms.com/ and follow the prompts to create your account, create your students and sign your forms.

Thank you for your assistance in streamlining our paperwork processes at RALHS.

Basic Student/Family Needs

Impacting Student Learning Outcomes by Addressing Basic Needs of Students and Their Families

Family stressors and struggles can also impact student learning outcomes. Families struggling to provide food, shelter, health care and struggling with their own mental health and wellbeing can greatly affect the children in their care as well as the family unit as a whole (Prince & Howard, 2002; Hartline-Grafton & Dean, 2017; Cook & Jeng, 2009; Perez-Escamilla, & Pinheiro de Toledo Vianna, 2012 ).

If you or your family is in need of support in any of the following areas, please contact one of the Academic Success Coaches below.

FAQs

What does RA stand for in high school? ›

TA means teacher assistant and RA means resident assistant. TAs can be in middle schools, high schools, and in colleges while RAs are only for college dorms. Middle- and high schools use adolescents from an upper grade to help a teacher do a variety of things in the classroom.

How many students go to Ra Long High School? ›

Can an RA search your room? ›

Room checks allow an RA or administrator to enter a dorm room and search for contraband or other rule violations. Each campus has specific steps to follow when on-campus students are caught breaking the rules. That said, some rules are usually universal, such as no alcohol in a student's room.

Do RA's get their own room? ›

One of the big perks of being an RA is that most schools reward you with discounted or free housing. In most cases, you will have a single room all to yourself, rather than having to share a room with another student. This can be great way to save money on college costs while still being able to live on campus.

What high school has the most students enrolled? ›

1) Commonwealth Charter Academy – Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
  • Total Student Enrollment: 18,087.
  • Average SAT Score: 1130.
  • Average ACT Score: 24.

How many K 12 students are in Pennsylvania? ›

The commonwealth's K-12 education system serves more than 1.7 million students. Pennsylvania's 500 school districts range in size from approximately 200 students to more than 140,000 students.

What does RA mean in school attendance? ›

RA – Remote Absent, for all distance and remote learners, not on-site who did not participate in class live. This absence is an unexcused absence which means, students cannot make-up their missed work which will result in a grade of zero.

Is becoming an RA worth it? ›

If you're [an RA] because you love working with people, want to see them grow, and want to serve as a support system, it's worth it,” writes one former RA on Reddit. “Despite all the silly things you might have to do, you'll get a lot out of working with your residents and being there for them.”

What does it mean if an RA writes you up? ›

If they catch you — or you tell them about — breaking residence hall or university rules, they're probably required to make a record of it or report the infraction to a higher authority. Anyone would get upset if their RA writes them up, but it can be particularly devastating if you thought that RA was your friend.

What does an RA get? ›

A resident advisor, or RA, is usually an upperclassman who lives on campus and serves as a mentor for newer students. They're tasked with enforcing dorm rules and creating a safe, inclusive environment. Most RAs receive free or discounted room and board, among other perks.
